ENGLISH RUGBY CLUBS ON THE NET: 2008-2009

Introduction

  • The primary objective of this site is to list all English rugby union clubs playing in leagues with links to the clubs and to their RFU league page. The format is based on RFU regions and the leagues for that region. For 2008-2009 - all clubs, men's and women's, are in their correct league. Links have been checked but this is an ongoing task and please email me additions and corrections

  • New clubs are always being added - there have been 40 new entries in July and August this year. As I update the leagues, I find some more sites but here are some recent additions. Check out the newcomers page which has all the new entries in the last year.

  • Using this website: you can find the links to over 1200 English rugby clubs who maintain their own websites. These clubs are divided into separate pages: those in the National leagues and those in one of the 4 RFU regions,namely London and SE , Midlands, North and South West. There is the only comprehensive page on the women's league structure.

  • Looking for a club? Then click on the relevant RFU region and scroll down or use 'find'. BUT remember if your club plays in National III or above, it will be in the National list and not on the regional site.
  • Additionally there are pages for referees' societies and county bodies. The pages for mini and youth sections are no longer updated - many clubs have youth sections on their sites.

  • Not listed? If your own or any club you know has been omitted, please mail me - links at bottom of page. Who's not here? As a rule of thumb, I only include clubs playing within the league structure - not schools or student sides. But I am beginning to include those clubs playing in county merit tables, outside the formal RFU structure.

All the information gathered here is public but it involves a lot of work done by myself and others. Some club sites have simply copied the links over to their own site. There's no problem with that but recognition of the origins of the material would be welcome. This site is maintained by Steve Uglow, Canterbury Rugby Club
