Match Report

                                  Maidstone 2nd 20 Canterbury 3rd 17

Canterbury fell to a narrow defeat away to the Invicta 2 East league leaders. The city side started strongly, with controlled play eventually releasing Brad Allchurch to power over under the posts. The try was converted, and Canterbury looked comfortable. Maidstone showed their quality, however, breaking through with ease and eventually scoring an unconverted try. They followed this up with a penalty kick and another converted try to take a15-7 lead by half time.
After the break Andre Allen beat a retreating defence to score an unconverted try for Canterbury and it remained tight until the last fifteen minutes when sustained pressure from the home side saw them grab an unconverted try. A cross field kick by Ollie Jaynes then created a try for Ollie Simpson but the city side could not find the decisive score,
